Control Your Breathing to Help With Relaxation

Ask most people who go to yoga classes what you learn as a beginner and they will say how to control your breathing. Breathing goes hand in hand with yoga exercises and is important to control your movement as well as helping you to relax.

The breathing pattern will be dependent on which yoga moves you are performing and you will learn to breath in ways you have never done before. In our everyday lives our breathing patterns change. For example, when we are stressed or breathing shortens where as when we are relaxed our breathing lengthens, and our exhale often becomes longer than our intake of air.

Understanding these breathing patterns helps those who perform yoga to follow breathing patterns which best help the body and mind to relax.
